Baron von Paragon [ eldritchink ]
Lubomierz Souček IV [ oyeu ]
[GMG] Baron von Paragon by eldritchink [GMG] Lubomierz Soucek by oyeu

Summary:
[ Baron and Lubo find themselves outdoors, preferring to avoid the energetic crowd inside and seeking refuge in the fresh air. After meeting each other for the first time, they discuss the unknown future ahead of them and the mysteries within each other. ]

    Lubby
[Taking his plate outside, he sit at a chair far enough from the chaos of the party and reveled in the comfort of the night. Weddings were Fun but this was anxiety... specifically from the fact that he only knew about.. one person there? So he could tell when he needed a breather]

    Baron
[Baron finally managed to wiggle his way past the crowds from inside the barn and out to the fresh outdoor air. He was used to weddings but man...he didn't expect something like this... He was used to boring, mundane, typical religious weddings back at his home town, I mean, they were known for their weddings after all. Between the diamond rings his family made and the tourism from lovers and followers alike, to say he's been to wedding would be an understatement. However, they weren't this...alive, so to say. The energy that followed the guild was already potent, it drained him just sitting in there surrounded by those he didn't know. He felt...out of place, more than he usually did.]

[Baron sighed audibly as he managed to wrangle to tie from around his neck , taking a moment to unbutton one of his shirt buttons so he wasn't feeling like he was choking himself to death anymore. However, just as he opened his eyes back up, he caught out of the corner of his eye a bright yellow figure - glancing to find someone who seemed to be in the same boat as him. Taking the opportunity to introduce himself, Baron slowly sauntered over to the duck, hands firmly slipped into his suit pockets.]

    Lubby
[Pulling his thick jacket closer around his shoulders, he sat in comfortable silence until that had been broken by another voice. Irritation picked at him--couldn't he just be left alone? But of course, with how chatty this guild was, it was hard to find any peace for longer than a few moments]

[Giving the carbink a sidelong glance, he tilted his beak up curiously]

I suppose so. I find it easier to the enjoy the weather out here, compared to inside the barn. [A brow raises, resting his cheek on a hand] Why aren't you inside enjoying the party, hm? Not your speed?

    Baron
[He couldn't help but let out a soft, almost whispered chuckle - leaning against the barn and finding his gaze back up towards the familiar starry sky.] I share the same sentiments, much more comfortable out here where it's cooler.

[At the mention of his reasoning behind why he wasn't enjoying the reception, he paused, his eyes scanning over the barn for a moment, his ears slightly twitching as another muffled swell of laughter and voices made it's way to his still rather wounded eardrums due to the last Pink Moon, before his eyes trailed back towards the stranger.]

Not really my speed, yes... Despite having been to several other weddings before, I suppose I still haven't quite felt comfortable in them just yet.

    Lubby
I see.

[Well... so far this guy in particular didn't seem to be too terrible. He proved to be of nice company, actually... Decent at the very least] ...I can understand. [He takes a sip of his drink, swirling it around thoughtfully] Parties of any kind tend to be out of reach for me.. I'm not the most social person ever. Crowds and too much excitement aren't good for my headaches.

[Sighs, rubbing his head. At least he caught it early on before it got too bad..] I don't think I've seen you around before. I'm a new member of this guild, I decided to join just to see what it would be like. My name is Lubo, it's a pleasure to meet you. [rising to stand, he offered out a hand to shake]

    Baron
[Quietly, the carbink listened to what he had to say, intrigued with the sudden delightful company he's found himself in. At a moment of pause, Baron slipped his own thoughts into the topic,]

I'm used to parties due to my upbringing, but it was all formalities, ceremonies really. I did enjoy my share of excitement and competition on the occasion, but I much prefer a quieter space with a a glass of bourbon or whiskey perhaps. Too much noise puts me on edge, especially nowadays.

[At the ability to introduce himself, he gladly swooped in and took the man's hands within his own. His cold, crystalline hands taking the other's softer hands within his firm grasp.] What a delightful coincidence, I'm new to the guild myself. The name's Baron von Paragon, but you may call me Baron - the pleasure is all mine, Lubo.

    Lubby
[...His upbringing, he says? Now that gets his attention. Lubby could relate to that wholeheartedly, it just.. surprised him that someone else could have also gone through something similar. Not too exact... but close enough. He huffs, smiling to himself] I can't help but relate to all of that. It's a bit easier to enjoy yourself with the right company, I think.

[Hmmm. A smile graces his bill, nodding his head] How formal. If we are going that far to introduce ourselves, my name is Lubomierz Soucek the fourth. Lubo is much more preferable, though. [Giving a firm shake, he releases the carbink and returns to his seat, gesturing for him to sit if he wanted to] What brought you to the guild then, if I may ask?

    Baron
[At the words, "with the right company", Baron help his lips upturn in a ghost of a smile, recalling the positive memories from what felt like a millennia ago. He did agree with those words very much so. Parties always felt so horrendously boring when they were being hosted by his "gracious" family. He sat through them and played his part like the perfect son, sure - but he never enjoyed it, it always was so suffocating. But the parties and the events he went on with his sister, they were some of his fondest memories. The songs, the laughter, it always sounded so much sweeter when it was with someone he cared about.]

Ah! So, I managed to draw out your full name!~ [He grinned, his tone becoming somewhat playful, but he preferred to keep a level of professionalism.] However, I respect your preference -Lubo sounds much better for you, I have to agree.

[At the offer of a seat, he pauses in thought, yet he decides to take the seat beside Lubo - deciding he would love to continue talking to him. With Lubo's inquiry, Baron took a moment of time to think of the correct way to answer without saying what felt like too much for him. Yet, after a couple seconds of silence, he answered,] Well, it's all rather complicated - but to keep it simple, I just felt as though it was my duty to, if that makes sense? I grew up having to learn how to fight and protect a populous and if I didn't try again, then I would be putting all that time and effort to waste.

    Lubby
[Huffs, rolling his eyes] It was a slip of the tongue, excuse me. [He retorted with sarcasm, though Baron's kindness did catch him off guard. His feathers ruffled a bit, rolling his eyes again]

What a honorable reason to join! I feel honored to be in your presence. [His tone was dripping with sarcasm at this point, but his expression did show his curiosity. If he wasn't keen on immediately giving him the complicated story, then so be it. It's not like they would remember this moment, or well... Baron wouldn't. He would, but he was used to slipping back into a state of unfamiliarity with others after a brief chat. Still, it was nice to try] It does make sense, it is quite the reason why to join. I can't say I have the same reasons, no, but I did join to simply document firsthand what goes on with everything. [He waves a hand, as if to gesture to everything] I think a sense of duty comes behind that... possibly. [shrugs] Maybe not, I can't put my finger on it, really.

    Baron
[A sharp-toothed grin stretched across his features at the presence of potent sarcasm lacing the duck's words. Very quietly and secretly within his thoughts, he confirmed to himself - he liked this man. He did enjoy sarcasm more than formalities, it was much more entertaining for him.]

If you're so honored, then get in line with everyone else!~ I can't just let you bask in my glory all on your lonesome - it wouldn't be fair to any other wayward eyes now, would it?

[Haha! Jokes on you, Lubo! Baron remembers everything.] Documenting, huh? {He crosses his a leg over the other as he sat beside him,] I'd say it's a respectable reason to join - especially since the the post-disaster era is rather important history in the making. I suppose you're thinking more about the future, while I'm stuck in the present. By Diancie, I'm not even sure what the hell I'm going to do after we fix this divine mess. But the future is...rather chaotic, don't you think? Everything is so jumbled with no meaning until the present comes to collect the fragments. Depending on the choices you make you reach that fate, but to think at any point you could have made a completely different decision, but would it have made any difference?

    Lubby
Ohhh, of course not. Please, bless you for gracing me with your presence. I know the line is just so full, [he pointed out to the imaginary line] Look at it! How dare I be so selfish to hold up the man of the decade?

[Snorts, a little quack escaping with his laugh] Oh no, I'm far from the future. I've had plenty of it. I'm more enraptured with the present and the steps it takes us! [His eyes sparkle as he leans in with a smile] That's the fun of it all--why change what will happen? Having a set future means nothing but expecting. Why expect when you can live with what happens? This disaster threw a wrench in what was laid out for many, it can be taken negatively, but to me? I find it fascinating.

That's the fun of it all--why try to reach the best outcome? Living a life such as that is bland and means nothing but expecting whats to come. How can anyone expect something like this? Why not live with what happens? The disaster threw a wrench in what was laid out for all of us, diverging us onto a new path that's full of new chances! To some it will be devastating, hard, as it has been for me, but above all that? I find it fascinating.

    Baron
[Baron grinned, holding up his head with his hand as he looked off towards the sea of open air,] Ah, yes - i do happen to have so many admirers among us, but they are all rather shy, poor dears... Oh well, I do think I can manage to squeeze you into my very tight schedule right now, one of my clients are rather late in viewing my absolute radiance. I understand, my extraordinary personality and physique is too intimidating - you are rather brave, Lubo.~

[Baron blinked at Lubo's rather passionate views about the future, but in a unique direction he hadn't quite heard before. It caught him off guard the way his eyes sparkled in the almost positive light on a typically bleak subject.] I suppose I hadn't thought of it quite that way. But even still, even if that's true, it won't stop me from still dreaming of a life I want to live. Sometimes you can't just live on an unknown future, then you aren't even sure what's the point of going on. It's good to wonder every now and then. You don't want to be stuck in the present forever, just the same with the future.

    Lubby
How generous of you! Perhaps I'll be able to squeeze you in my own schedule for such kindness. [snorts]

Of course, dreaming helps you get where you want. My definition of the future and present may be entirely different to what you think, though.. but you aren't wrong. It is nice to have some meaning to your actions.. a goal, for better words. You see, for me, I've lived a life of having plans. My life was set out for years before I even had the chance to enter it. The future in my terms is being able to know what's coming and either make the choice of accepting or denying it--years in advance. The present to me is being able to tackle these choices without knowing what will happen. No time to prepare for it years beforehand, just [snaps his fingers, small psychic sparks fluttering from it] like that.

[Leaning back in his chair, he nibbled on some bread and sighed] What are your dreams then, if you would be so generous to share? More specifically... your dreams here, with the guild.

    Baron
[At that remark, Baron managed to let out a clear, audible, and deep chuckle - one rooted deep beneath his chest. It was a rather warm laugh for a man so physically and emotionally cold.] My my my, how lucky am I for being able to squeeze into your schedule! I must be in order to catch your attention, my dear...

[Baron turned his torso to better face the duckie,] Ah, I see... Yes, it is a much different original viewpoint than my own. I suppose I would have agreed if I had the same definition. [He rapped his chin.] Knowing what the future holds is very unceremonious, yes. If all you do is plan for a future you know if going to happen, then you miss the experiences and the development that one would face in order to reach that future. There is nothing wrong with planning, but if it’s to the detriment of the present, then you live nothing but a false life.

[For another moment, he paused as he thought what exactly he hoped and dreamed for in this guild. And he had to admit, it took him much longer than he should have with the question he was given. But he did his best to manage an answer to the best of his ability, a small frown tugging at his lips.] I suppose...I dream to find someone I used to know, or even just the remanence of what’s left. For two years after the disaster I’ve wondered if they are still alive, and I guess all I really hope for is to get that question answered. And if they are, I hope I can tell them I’m sorry. After that? I don’t know.

    Lubby
[HUFF.. This guy was charming as hell. He was such pleasant company, it was odd... but he found himself craving more and he wasn't one to deny himself a treat every once in a while]

I see... I can tell your story won't end there, though, if that's any comfort. Maybe after... or during the process of finding them, you'll find something else to catch your eye. I do hope you do. [Flashing a genuine smile, he nodded his head] I don't want to pry since this is supposed to be a nice night, so thank you for telling me. I'll keep it up in the chamber for the lore of mysterious Baron. [Taps his head!] I would offer my own, but I like to keep things a mystery for a touch of added interest. Mystery books do tend to be the best ones in my humble opinion. [hehe]

    Baron
[He hummed in thought, processing what was being said to him. For but a moment he felt his face warm and a smile creep onto his lips at Lubo's rather sudden and genuine smile.Man, he couldn't even remember the last time he was given a real genuine smile... But just as quickly as it came, he shoved it down.] I see...well, it is comforting, yes... I hope something does manage to catch my eye and occupy my thoughts other than my goals. My thoughts are bleak - might do me some good to find some positive influence...

[Baron then managed to crack a small, but still a genuine smile - regardless of how miniscule it is.] I do appreciate that you don't want to pry, I like to keep my secrets as I can see that you do as well. Plus, it wouldn't be fun to just tell you everything right of the bat now is it? I mean, you have to have some sort of excuse to come see my glory in person again, Lubo! You are a busy man like myself, after all.~ [With a more playful smile, Baron leaned ever so slightly towards the psyduck beside him,] And I would absolutely adore to get to know you more, you're a rather interesting fellow... I suppose I do like a man with some intrigue - the best part about a mystery is being able to uncover it, after all...

[At that, Baron leaned back into his spot and adjusted the cuffs of his suit,] ...in my humble opinion, of course.

    Lubby
It would! Having something else truly does make the journey a bit more worthwhile and entertaining, no matter what it may be. I hope you can find something or someone like that. [His thoughts fluttered back to his own something-- seeing 3 heads looking right back at him. He was lucky to have Niki, without him... well.. there wouldn't be him. Not this particular him, at least]

Of course, of course! I'm nearly shaking in my boots thinking about how I can relate to the oh-so glorious Baron! [fans himself dramatically] If I was to learn anything else right now I don't know if I could take it! [Hummms. Tilting his beak down, there was a mischevious glint in his eye] Something else we can relate to, I see. [He chuckled deeply, raising a brow] Now we'll have to see who can crack the mystery first then, won't we? I am a hard egg to crack, mister Baron. I hope you won't give up on me.

[Crossing his leg, his expression held nothing but cheekiness, curiosity lurking beneath. Baron was a unique, interesting man... He would enjoy the carbinks company beyond this, he could feel. Which.. maybe he felt a little thrilled for]

    Baron
Oh dear me, I wouldn’t want you fainting after revealing to you my unwavering charm and secrets all at once! It would be absolutely irresponsible of me to allow such an action! It’d be criminal! [Along with Lino’s fanning, Baron let out a puff of innate icy energy, almost like a cool gentle breeze radiating from the carbink.] You better cool yourself down before you overhear from my presence, my dear.

[Baron matched the twinkle in Lubo’s eyes, a smirk stretching a corner of his mouth.] A competition to see who can discover each other’s secrets... hmmm, I do love me a competition - I’m in. You better prepare yourself - I don’t shy away from a good mystery. I won’t give up until I win, Lubo, my dear.

[He couldn’t deny himself, he rather enjoyed the psyduck’s company, even if he had only known him for what could have only been a several minutes. He was an interesting sort with a fascinating outlook on the world around it, and it was refreshing to listen to. For every fake, suck-up he’s met, it all was worth it finding a man like Lubo - genuine.]

    Lubby
[Oh hello! The cool breeze surprised him pleasantly, feathers ruffling with a pleased hum] How kind of you... for someone so cold, I didn't expect your heart to be warm. [He chirps sweetly, feathers ruffling once more. Oh how he missed the cold... maybe he'd have to ask him to do that more often.]

I'm already prepared, Baron. I am a walking mystery, it takes years of the act to get as good as we are. I expect nothing less than a headache and a cliffhanger--something has to keep me hanging on, yes? Perhaps I'll spoil you with a teaser or two if you play your cards right, we'll just have to see, won't we?

[Raising his glass as if to toast, he took a long sip while eyeing Baron over the lip of it. He would have to tell Niki about this man... perhaps he would even like to meet him! Not now, though, they would have to see where this story book took them] As much as I love chatting with you, I think it's time I depart. [Sparing a look to his watch--yeah, it was bed time for this duck. He almost wanted to prolong it but why not save this fun for other days?] I'll be expecting to hear or see from you again soon, as you should for me. [Rising to stand, he dusted himself off and offered out a hand once more, smirk pulling on his beak] It was wonderful to meet the fantastic Baron, I hope you'll spare me some time for another nice chat.

    Baron
[He let out another hearty chuckle at the noticeable pleasantness Lubby felt from the chill he radiated. The more he chuckled, the more audible he became. He was glad to see he didn’t shutter away from his chill - a fellow cold weather preference perhaps? He might have to ask about that sometime...] Ha, maybe that could be a mystery about me you have to discover for yourself, hm?

Well, I suppose I have to make sure I reach those expectations and make sure I don’t disappoint you. Maybe if the stars align, I just might charm you into showing a card from your deck. I already know I’m in for a wild ride, so I better make sure I keep you on the tips of my fingers, yes? It’s only fair!~

[Baron nearly let out a disappointed groan, glancing over at his own wristwatch and seeing that it was indeed very late - much later than he expected.] My, it is quite late, isn’t it? Well, time does fly when you’re in good company. [Following suit, he stood and adjusted himself accordingly, keeping his eyes locked into the conversation to prolong it as much as he possibly could. Sparing a moment, with not even a glance or a moment to waste he took Lubo’s hand in his firm grip once more, a smirk reappearing upon him.] I expect to hear for you again then. It was an absolute pleasure to chat with you. I’m almost positive I can manage to sneak you in for another conversation sometime. Just don’t mention it to my admirers, they get awfully jealous, you know? [He offered the duck a little wink!] I best be off, I have to be rested and prepared for what the next day shall bring, after all.

    Lubby
Maybe it will! I'll surely keep it on the mind to ponder over in the late hours of the night... Oh, maybe I shouldn't have said that. I don't want your head growing too big. [Coos, snapping his fingers] Do your best not to let it, would you? I would hate to see you fly away.

[Charm? Oh, he's already charmed him enough. He would be willing to sit for hours to ramble about his own history and traits... but he had enough sense to seal his lips before he let too much go] I'm glad we can come to an agreement, Baron. It is only fair.

[He waves a hand dismissively, chirping] Please, don't flatter me. I could say the same for you. [Taking the other man's hand into a grip equally firm, his thumb brushed over his icy knuckle with a firm shake] I'll keep it hush between us, don't worry. I wouldn't want to be set aside or run down for someone more intent on spending time with you. [His feathers ruffle once more, beaming warmly] Rest well, Baron. I'll catch you another time. [With a lingering moment he finally breaks their handshake, sighing as he looked back to the party and going off onto the hunt to find his feathery friend]

    Baron
Oh trust me, no matter how big my head gets, I’ll keep my feet firmly on the ground. My body is too dense to let my ego carry me away - I’m no amateur. I like keeping my feet on the ground anyways.

[As he shook his hand, he grinned,] Don’t worry, I wouldn’t let that happen to you, my feathery friend. I wouldn’t dare let my charm needlessly bring you harm, I am a protector, after all. [He released his grip from their shared handshake, his grin maintaining even still.] I’ll make sure you keep that promise. Until next time, Lubo. [Even as Lubo walked off, Baron maintained his gaze on the psyduck until the yellow feathered figure disappeared from view. For a couple seconds, Baron stood there and took in what had just transpired, soaking in his newfound goal. And with a new swell of laughter surging from the barn, he glanced back and sighed before turning his stroll back towards the city. He needed one more drink - a toast, to the unknown future.]

Hello, this is an announcement that I am selling one of my characters belonging to a group that I am no longer going to be a part of.
It is a flat price sale, first-come-first-serve of 300:points:, which is what I bought it for. I just want to make sure these characters don't get left in the dust and never get used after I'm gone.

I have to make an announcement to all those who have or want a Zerowing. As you all might know if you were here long enough, I have a Wings of Fire fan tribe by the name of Zerowings. My concept art is found here:

They were supposed to be a species of dragon that was wingless and instead lived atop of high trees. Another thing was that they weren't going to live in Pyrrhia at all, instead, with a completely new island named Terrarium. They also had a hierarchy based on colors, specifically the rainbow. They were also heavily inspired off of mockingbirds with their wide vocal range, as well as geckos with their gripping skin textures on the bottom of their feet.
Why am I notifying you all, you may ask? This is because -

I'm completely trashing Zerowings and I am going to be almost completely changing Zerowings altogether.

So exactly, what does this all mean?
This means that I'm going to be redoing Zerowings again but in a much more extreme way. I will still be keeping some things about the Zerowing, like the duel ears and wide, mockingbird-like vocal range. However, I will be changing so much more. This includes:
  • Changing the name of Zerowings
  • Completely trashing the "no wings"
  • Changing where they live, putting them back onto Pyrrhia
  • Changing the hierarchy
  • Changing the colors they can become
  • Deleted the previous group for the Zerowings
  • More to be announced!
Now, the one thing I will mention specifically are the people who own the current state of Zerowings. These people are:
To all these people who have gotten a Zerowing by paying fairly and have earned your right to have your Zerowing, then you have two options. Option one, you can keep your Zerowing how it is, but do not label it as such, as it will not exist. Or option two, you can use that Zerowing as a gateway to get the new version of them. I will give you a completed base and you will be able to fill it out and show it to be for my approval. This means you won't have to repay for this new version because you technically already have the original version.

Stay tuned for more announcement about the new version if you are interested! I'm currently working on the reference sheet for the new version and I will make a new group soon this week! Lastly, I plan on opening an open MYO for a short while once they are officially open so that people can get their first dragon!
